Subject:analogue recording

I am running Acid 3.0 on both a gateway with windows '98 and a dell with XP. I have laid down a drum loop track, to which I want to add guitar. The guitar is running into the line in on the computer. I get guitar levels, but when I record the drum track records as well. I can't find a way to monitor the drums and record the guitar without re-recording the drums. How can I make this happen? Is it even possible?

This is covered in the Knowledgebase FAQ 640. It sounds like your soundcard is set to record ALL inputs when you just want it to record the guitar input. It’s a soundcard adjustment that is unique to your soundcard.
