I love Acid but installing all the extra Windows stuff like .Not and SQL and the ASP login account messes with my lean audio machine. Besides, I don't want to have to click on my name to log in l - it's my PC. Can any power users out there please tell me what will happen if I delete the ASP account for one thing . . . |

I deleted the ASP account and nothing bad happened. If you download the latest .Net Service Pack I believe it will hide the account like it should have been in the first place. (this is Microsoft’s fault not Sony’s). You can turn off the SQL Engine if you’d like by disabling the Media Manager in the ACID preferences so it will stop loading. You will then have your PC back to normal. ~jr |

I also deleted the .NET framework, and it still works fine... although of course it will come baclk again once you install the next upgrade. 5.0 has been extremely rock solid and stable for me... I got over my initial disappointment with media manager, and am now enjoying the extra features, particularly playing around with the grooves, and improved workflow though hosting of VST effects, and the use of folder tracks. |

> ...and the use of folder tracks. Yea, I don’t know how I lived without folder tracks. It is so nice to be able to collapse tracks for instruments you’re not working on and get them out of the way. I use this a lot. It’s amazing how something so simple can improve workflow so much. ~jr |
