i am having a problem recording live vocals. once the music tracks are in, i play them back through headphones and track the vocals at the same time. the problem is during playback, the vocals are several beats behind the original music, even though the live recording was dead on timing. anyone know what i'm doing wrong?

Could be that ACID is time stretching your recording as a Beatmapped track. Try unchecking the option, "Make new track follow project tempo," in the Record dialog.

This will make your recording a "One-shot" track, the only type of track ACID does not time stretch. (Basically, what you hear is what you get on playback.)
