Have you tried putting it in your computer CDrom or CD burner drive and playing it there? The most likely problem is what Chienworks mentioned above. Another possiblility is that the CD player does not support playing Recordable CD's. Most newer CD players support this, but you haven't mentioned how old your CD players are that you played it on. That's why I mention to try and play it using your PC CDrom drive, since if it's able to burn CDR's you're about 100% certain it will play in there too. Most CDrom drives will play Recordable CD's as well as unclosed discs. Another problem could be with your actual CD burner compatibility issue with Sound Forge. Have you tried any other programs with your CD burner? Try Windows media player and see if that makes any difference. Another thing you might want to try is lowering the burn rate when you burn the CD. Drop it down a couple knotches from the max burn rate. Some burners will write a high amount of errors to the disc when burning at max burn speed, which make it so the CD player can't play it due to the high amount of error correction it has to perform. In other words if it has a max burn rate of 16x, then try 12x or 8x. If it burns at 32x, try 16x, 12x, and 8x. |

The best burner on the planet costs less than $100 (Plextor Premium) and includes an incredible professional software package for analyzing discs, copying, etc. No offense, but given how affordable good equipment is now, I find it strange that anyone would risk using older or less than professional burners if you're wanting quality, reliable results. drbam |

>>do you have a contract to promote plextor?<< Of course not. I'm only reporting from mine and others' experience of a proven reliable, professional piece of gear. I found out about this Plextor burner on a forum similar to this one and have been extremely grateful ever since. Just trying to pass along some helpful info. . . >>by the way, the LG GSA4120B is about 6 month old and did cost about 70 bugs<< Well if that's the case then clearly you should not be experiencing any problems then. . . right? However, if you do a general web search, you'll find some other folks are having problems with the burner you have. Maybe not the exact same problems but problems none the less. Peace, drbam |

Have you tried any of my other suggestions of lowering the burn speed? So with the deep burn software you're able to burn at whatever speed that didn't mention and you where trying in Sound Forge? There's many problems that you can run into when burning CDs. Here's a list of known incompatibility issues that may occur. 1. Software used for burning incompatible with CDR burner 2. CDr burner brand incompatibility with burning software 3. Firmware bug for CD burner, causing incompatibility with software and Windows 4. CDR media brand incompatibility with the burner 5. CDR media color incompatibility with your particular burner 6. Burning rate speed problems due to burner and CDR brand as well as system level problems. 7. System problem by multiple applications running during the burn process. Sound Forge could very well be the problem, but you need to also look at the other possibilities. Start by going to the CD burner manufacturers website and see if there is a firmware upgrade available. If nothing there then try lowering the speed of the burn. Following this you should try another brand of CDR, then again lower the speed if on this brand to see if you get the same results. Also in Windows goto START>SETTINGS>CONTROL PANEL>SYSTEM>HARDWARE, then select IDE ATA/ATAPI controlers, where you will find a "primary IDE and secondary IDE icon. Right click on each of those and select "Properties". Go into the Advanced settings tab. Make sure that in the "transfer mode" that all of them are set too DMA. |
