Right now i have Acid Music Studio but when i open it i finally realize that its basicly for mixing music together, but all i want is to be able to record my bands music onto the computer and create a CD. So my quiestion is, In a band without a keyboard and no need for techno style music am i better off with Acid or Sound Forge to create a CD for my band. Or is ACID good enough to do it? |

If all you want to do is record your band live like a 2-track tape recorder would then Sound Forge will work fine. If you want to do multiple passes to build a multi-track recording, ACID is better (Sound Forge doesn’t do multi-track, it only has one stereo track). If you want to record simultaneous multi-track than Vegas would be best for that (ACID does not record simultaneous multi-track, just one track at a time with multi-track playback). Just to summarize what I said: Sound Forge: 2-track recorder, 2-track playback ACID: 2-track recorder, multi-track playback Vegas: multi-track recorder, multi-track playback Take your pick. ~jr |

To add to JR's comments...Vegas for multitracking your band and Sound Forge to complete your master and make your CD. If you're budget's tight..then just start with Vegas. |
