Recently purchased Sound Forge 7.0 When I save a file as an MP3, the properties, specifically the Summary information is not being saved. When I reopn the file the properties fields are all blank.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do you save your settings before you save the file? I used to have that problem and it seems that when I saved a setting template and applied the template each time I saved, it would save the summary. Are you talking about the ID3 info or something else?

First off let me clarify that I realized I have Sound Forge Audio Studio, not the expensive Sound Forge.

After a week I finally received word from tech support that the program does not save the summary information. That is totally obsurd in my opinion. That should be one of the firts things built into the basic program.

Anyways, if it applies to my software, I would be interested in hearing more about saving the properties before I save the file. Also I am new to the program, so fill me in as to the ID3 properties. Maybe I doing something wrong.

Many thanks for your reply. Any help is apprecieted

The application summary information takes precidence over template settings.

1. File-> Save as mp3 -> Custom... button, opens custom template settings. 2. Fill in the id3 settings.
3. Now go to
File-> Save as mp3 -> Summary... button, opens summary Properties.
4. Click the Extended ... button. All the Extended Summary information is empty but is checked on. These overwrite your id3 settings with nothing.
5. To fix this go to the Name/Title, Artist, Copyright, Comments, Year, and Genre fields (there is no Album field) and uncheck them.
6. Save As mp3 and the id3 tags should be ok.
