Me Too! I just updated from 7.0a to 7.0b and get Wave Hammer in Demo mode. The previous thread on this didn't appear to have a decent solution. Do we have to fix this in the registry???

HELP! Could someone in tech-support explain how to fix this?

The dialog box says "Wave Hammer (r) --DEMO" Right-clicking in the title bar and selecting "Register..." does nothing.

There is an knowledge base article about this. Do a search for Wave Hammer and it will show you the link.

Here is the text:

Wave Hammer making beeping sounds in Sound Forge 7.0.

Question
I have Sound Forge 7.0 and the Wave Hammer is making beeping noises as if it is running in demo mode. All my other effects work fine, what is the problem?

Answer
Make sure that Sound Forge 5.0 and 6.0 are not currently installed. Now uninstall Sound Forge 7.0. After you do this, delete the following directories (if they remain):

C:\Program Files\Sony\Sound Forge

C:\Program Files\Sony Setup\Sound Forge

After you've deleted these folders, go to Start-->Run and type regedit, then click the "OK" button. Delete the following keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sony Media Software\Sound Forge\7.0

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Sony Media Software\Sound Forge\7.0

Also make sure that there are no Sonic Foundry Sound Forge 7.0 registry keys still there. They would be:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sonic Foundry\Sound Forge\7.0

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Sonic Foundry\Sound Forge\7.0

After you've done these things, install the latest version of Sound Forge 7.0 available from this link.

Registry warning:

Note: it is always a good idea to backup your registry before making any changes to it. There is always the possibility of changing or deleting a critical setting causing you to have to reinstall the whole operating system. It's much better to be safe than sorry!

This worked perfectly for my installation.
