Subject:MSAUDITES.EXE audio program? CPU going crazy - any ideas?

I have MSAUDITES.EXE starting with my OS and using most of my CPU until I kill it but I can't figure out how it is staring and I am not sure whether to delete it as there is a related looking file - MSAUDITES.DLL that appears according to the MS site to be legit. The first file I can find nothing about, and it does not show up on my other WinXP system Nonetheless I am afraid to delete it in case it has some thing to do with one of the many audio/video programs on my computer - and therefore possibly it might be corrupt and in need of having whatever program is running it re-installed - Any ideas?
thanks fultro

msaudite.dll is Microsoft Security Audit Events DLL. An EXE file by the same name could very well be a new virus masquerading as a system file. You can always rename it to .exe-old and it will no longer execute. Then see if anything breaks. I’m sure no video application installed an OS auditing file.
