Subject:Audio recording is NOT placed in selected folder

Here is something I discovered while recording this weekend that users should be aware of. If you use the ACID Pro 5.0 setting Options > Preferences > Folders tab and then select Use a single default folder for project media saves and use the <Project> option like I do, you’ll find an annoying quirk in the record dialog. In the Audio Record dialog there is a File name and a Record folder selection. It doesn’t seem to matter what I select in the record folder selection, it always records into the default project folder! It lets me change the directory and even shows the changed directory in the dialog, but that’s not where the file is being recorded. This makes no sense to me. Why am I allowed to select a folder with the browse button if you’re not going to place the audio recording there? If I uncheck the Folder setting Use a single default folder for project media saves then the Record folder selection works as it should. I’m not sure if this is a bug or just strange intended behavior. IMHO, the Record Folder in the Record dialog should have the Browse button disabled and only show the actual folder it plans to place the recording if it’s not going to record there. It is very misleading the way it is now as it accepts a new folder and displays the new folder but does not record into it. Just something to watch out for. ~jr |

I can confirm this. Not too big a deal to me as I rarely record outside an intended folder, but it's good to know. Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid Buy Instant ACID by JohnnyRoy and mD! Now! mD at ACIDplanet |
