Choosing a burner

I am purchasing a new DVD burner. Are there any burners that work best with VMS? Are there any I should stay away from. Right now, I am leaning towards a Pioneer AO8

No matter what you get, count on doing a Firmware update from the start and periodically afterward. My new media wouldnt burn at rated speed till I did.

www.dvdrhelp.com may offer better advice. If you plan on using DVD media as a computer backup device as a major part of the utility you are looking for, I would highly recommend a writer with DVD-RAM capabilty. It's fantastic.
