Can Vegas apply "Video Event FX" to multiple clips at once?

Is it possible to apply an identical "Video Event FX" to multiple clips at the same time (without doing it to the whole track)?

There are many times when I have a series of clips that are too dark and I want to apply the "Sony Levels" FX to brighten them. Right now I have to manually add this FX to each clip and set it's values.... or drag the FX from the Video FX tab to each clip.... which is a little faster... but still a pain in the neck. Can't I band-box select all video clips somehow and apply the effect once for all of them?

2 Ways I do it on the T/L:

1/- At the Timeline: Just select source "Event" - go "Copy" > Select target Event Right Click select "Paste Attributes". So for more than one Event, pick off by either Ctrl+Click each event you want and then the PAste Attributes oR use Shi8ft Click a range OR use Selection tool

2/- Select Events and use the Plugin Manager for my Home Grown FXs OR from Sony's Video FXs.

1.Select the clip on wich the effect is already affected
2.Select others clips (i guess you mean "events")
3.Edit>paste event attributes (it will also paste cropping values and transparency)

Be aware that if you paste again, you will add your effects one more time in the fx chain. You can remove all fx on a events selected with removeallfx script before using paste event attribute (to avoid this problem).

or move the clips to a new track and apply the FX at track level....

You can apply it to media in the media pool, so if all the offending media comes from the same tapes, you can nail it just once and have everything done.

Can't believe I hadn't heard of this now I hear it twice in one day. Neat.

BTW, does this work for Audio events also?

No. Audio FX need to be applied to the event as non-realtime FX, to the track header as real time FX, to the main bus as real time FX, or by creating FX buses for real time FX.

Thanks Spot.

BTW, I think your Vegas book is one of my most valuable tools. (Now you're gonna tell me if I had read it cover-to-cover I would have known the Media Pool tip :-)

Cheers!

:-) It's in there somewheres, but even *I* haven't read it cover to cover. And the index isn't as good as it should be, IMO. But I appreciate you reading the book. thank you
