I've opened a simple MP3 and it goes to the beatmap wizard. Then i select the area i want beatmapped. It loops while in the beatmapper and It sounds great. I hit next and then i'm in my project... When i take the pencil or the paint brush and drag it across that track it just lays out the entire song, not just the beatmapped part that i want to loop and had set in the wizard. I know i'm doing something stupid because I've made it work before. The track still says it's beatmapped in properties, but it just isn't working. Any idea what i might be doing wrong? Thanks in advance! |

Nothing is going wrong. The beatmapper is supposed to beatmap the entire song. If you just want to use one part as a loop, trim that part on the timeline and use Ctrl+M to render to a new track. Then remove the original beatmapped track and use the looped version. ~jr |

Thanks, interesting. But i've used Acid 4 in the past and when i beat mapped part of it, it only looped that part. What's the point of the beatmap wizard, and why would it have that small yellow area that you can move to one small area, and why when you hit play in the wizard does it only play that small area? When i used 4 i would find the small area in the wizard and when i painted it across the time line ONLY that little part would be there over and over. What's the point of beatmapping an entire 3 minute song? I can just lay that down on the track. I don't get it. |

> But i've used Acid 4 in the past and when i beat mapped part of it, it only looped that part. I still have ACID 4 installed and that is NOT the way it works. I just checked it! > and why when you hit play in the wizard does it only play that small area? It doesn’t only play that small area. In Step 3 of the Beatmapper Wizard there is Measure slider that allows you to move the measure out into the song to make sure it still beatmaps cleanly and adjust it as appropriate. > What's the point of beatmapping an entire 3 minute song? To do a remix. That is probably what most people use beatmapping for. Here is a direct quote from the ACID 4 on-line documentation: The Beatmapper uses a single measure length for the entire song. You can drag the end of the measure selection to change the measure's length. However, changing the length will affect the entire song; if adjusting the last measure of the song causes the first measure to be incorrect, the downbeat may not be positioned correctly or the song's tempo may not be consistent enough for the Beatmapper. ACID has always done beatmapping on an entire song. > I can just lay that down on the track. I don't get it. Laying a song down on a track does not ensure that other loops will map to its tempo. The song will just be a one-shot and will not follow the tempo. Beatmapping is required to add ACIDized information to the song so that it can respond to tempo and key changes. ~jr |

This is reallllllly weird. I've taken an MP3 of a beastie boys song, i beatmapped it, and just took one small area, and it looped across the entire project. So i just had that beat, no other part of the song across the entire timeline. Don't get me wrong, I'm a total newbie at this, but i know what i've done in the past. I feel like i need to be commited... I'm NOT CRAZZZZZY!!!! heheheh... It was like a month ago and I am 99.999999999% sure that i'm right about how i did it. Maybe i did something different, but my step brother was the one that showed me this beatmapping trick and that's what he did too when he showed me. He was like "yeah you can just take any beat from any song and loop it with the beatmapper..." So we were playing with it that night and it did that. I remember doing it with a lenny kravitz loop too. I looped that guitar riff in "American Woman." and i used the beatmapper to do it. I'm tellin' ya.... Has anyone else done this? |

Maybe you just used the Chopper to extract that part of the MP3? Split the event? Slipped the event? Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid Buy Instant ACID by JohnnyRoy and Me! Now! mD at ACIDplanet |
