That'd be GREAT for me! I don't want to know what I'm missing and what I cant afford for years to come, although I am staunch in realizing the obvious(and thankfully alot of people I respect on this forum share the same view), that is, that until the majority of households Own their own HiDef TV and receiver, and that means in the sub-$400 range, its going to be a blue blood industry for a few more years...Yah, I REALLY enjoyed watching last weekends NFL Championship games CBS broadcast in HIDefinition, cuz I really was able to relish in the accomplishment on my 32 inch Sharp standard definition 3 comb filter TV (which I could only afford once Best Buy sold them for $400) and non-digital Cox Cable Expanded basic package(at $40 a month)...and if I was able to afford to make the jump I can just see myself loading my $5000 HIDef Monitor in my car to go to annual Thanksgiving dinner at Uncle Bill's with my DVD player to allow all to enjoy my indulgence. I'm ok with the status quo. Try being a mom and pop video production company today and trying to upsell your product to your target majority clientele (the masses, if your'e smart and into numbers) to pay for your gear...yes, Ms Girl Scout Troop leader, you SHOULD go with the high definition package I offer...NO, you won't necessarily see a difference...No, the rest of your family that you will purchase this DVD for will see the difference.....except for maybe crappier graphics that are built to HiDef specs and look like junk on your normal TV...since Im on a tangent here, y'ever notice those hi Def broadcasts and their graphics...here, we slay to produce hi quality clear resolution graphics, and they are airing them Hi Def and they look rather pixely...funny!

Poor and OK with it in Kansas City,
John

That's a good idea. But it would have to come from a different division.

Sony Broadcast, who distributes the Z1, and Sony Electronics, who distribute the FX1, are different divisions than Sony Pictures, who has this forum. I wish there were an easy way for the 3 of them to come together and start a forum for that format. In the meantime, there is an HDV forum at the DMN and HDVInfo.net. Be happy to see a bunch of you over there.
