For some reason, Acid just doesn't like these Midisport units, by M-Audio. Acid 5 crashes, frequently, as it has issues with the various ports. I've set everything up so that my computer is routed to my Midisport, and then out to my Korg N1R, my Korg Wavestation, and then to my Roland EM-55. I sure hope someone has any ideas how to keep this application from crashing. It's so bad that a reboot is in order, because Acid 5 won't even cancel out from the Task Manager under the Applications or Processes settings. Please help. |

That’s strange. My Minisport 2x2 works fine with ACID. I only have a MIDI keyboard controller hooked up to it but I’ve had no problems with crashing in ACID 5. Make sure you have the latest drivers from M-Audio. ~jr |

The end of this thread mentions the MidiPort: http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=350671&Replies=6&Page=1 The reviews for the Midisport 2x2 are not that great: http://www.harmony-central.com/Synth/Data/Midiman/Midisport-2x2-01.html Now, perhaps some of the reviewers are not the sharpest tools in the shed, but I was not impressed with the reviews. The Midisport works fine under Fruity Loops. It's Acid that has conflicts with it. I can aquire tones from multiple sources in Fruity, but Acid crashes like crazy when three synths are hooked up. Well, at least when you're aquiring your tones, on multiple channels, from three different synths. |

I've got the 4x4 and have never had issues either.... Odd. Try to uninstall/reinstall the drivers maybe? |

This sounds like the symptom of a MIDI loop. Do you have both in and out MIDI cables connected to devices and Thru/Soft Thru enabled in a device and apps. creating a MIDI loop? Loop as in endless data loop (MIDI feedback), not music loop. MJ |

Yeah, I thought of that already. That's not the problem. M-Audio mentioned IRQ conflicts. So, I'm waiting to hear back. However, I never had these problems with Acid Pro 4. And, Fruity still works great with it. So, I'm assuming that this is a flaw inside Acid 5 Pro. |
