The subject line says it all! :) Any recommendations? I shoot with a Canon GL2, so receiver size is part of the criteria. I need something with flawless (or as close to it as I can get) reception for the price. Thanks!
Love, and I mean LOVE my Sennheiser E112K bodypack system with the ME-2 lavalliere. Durable construction, great sound, multiple channels, never once had an interference problem.
It's apparently since been replaced by the G2 100, which looks like it's still in your price range.
Cheap wireless mics are fine until the day you get screwed by interferance, then you'll never want anything except a good diversity system. More expensive mics sound a lot better too.
I recommend renting a good mic instead of buying a cheap one.
A number of people, including me, have had good success with the Sony UWP-C1 series. The sound is clean and ther are a bunch of frequencies from which to choose. They are $500 at B&H plus you get a $50 gift card.
@John: Yeah, I knew I was going to get that comment after I wrote that. ;) I realize there is always the potential for problems especially dealing with wireless (even more so at that price) but I was feeling optimistic when I wrote that. :) Heck, even having wired mics can never make it flawless!
