Subject:Making track/loop get progressively faster

First post(!):

I'm struggling to find a way to use Acid or Sound Forge to progressively speed up a track/loop. I know how to make it faster by using time stretch, but this speeds up the entire thing. I want to know how to speed up a track over time, such as it getting faster and faster.

This is used a lot in trance music with certain loops, such as drums starting out with the regular tempo beat, but then getting faster and faster to reach the "climax" of the track (usually with a cymbal crash afterwards.

Please help! It would be greatly appreciated!

There is no way to individually adjust the speed of a single track. You would have to speed up the whole song, then solo the track and render it to a wave file and bring it back into the song. (and slow the song back down again). Probably not an easy thing to do because you can’t really hear it against the rest of the song properly. I don’t know of any recording software that can speed up and slow down individual tracks.

i dont think the bpm changes in what you are talking about, its still in the same time signature and the person is just implemeting "double time" etc while laying the instrument. i know what you mean, like when a snare drum roll sounds like its speeding up but i think its just the playing progressing from real time to double time, as played by the musician or programmer in this case

?

Let's say you have a snare hit every other quarter note, then the snare does a build-up of 16th note hits and then 32nd note hits during the course of a measure or two.

Is that what you're looking for? If so, it's just a matter of either chopping that part of the percussion loop and pasting it along the timeline (you can do a "paste repeat" (CTRL+B) command or, using a snare One-shot, simply painting the One-shot to the respective grid resolution.
