The new VASST Instant ACID book has been release by CMP Books and is on its way to distributors. CMP is selling copies at the NAMM show this weekend so some people already have their copy.

The Instant Series by VASST is a quick reference to all the information you really need to know to get you productive quickly and enough advanced tips and tricks to keep you productive if you are an experienced user. It is very visual (most pages have two images showing you what the text is explaining) and task oriented so that you don’t have to read it cover-to-cover. You can skip to just the task you are trying to accomplish and get the information you need instantly. They are perfect for people who don’t like reading a lot because they are very concise, step-by-step, and stay focused on the task.

WOW! This seems really in-depth and extensive, much better than the ACID 5.0 Power book, which is basically a re-write of ACID Power with a trivial fly-over of 5.0 features. Never been so unimpressed but yours looks great!! Will be picking it up!!

Don’t forget, Iacobus and I are here with you every day so we understand the kind of question that get asked and we wanted to document all the answers to those questions that can’t be found in the users manual. So this book was really written with the Sony ACID forum members in mind. In many ways, it’s a book made especially for you.

For example, many books discuss Beatmapping as if it always works perfectly. You and I know that it doesn’t work on songs with drifting tempo and you are often stuck beatmapping a difficult track. The book shows you how to find the downbeat yourself (when the beatmapper can’t) and how to multiple beatmap a track that drifts off tempo. We tried to focus on the real issues that people experience here. The book documents many of those type of questions and answers in one place. (at least that was our intent... you are the ultimate judge of our success)
