I tried the track insert option, when i burn the cd the first 2 minutes i hear music with cd tracks, the rest of the cd is tracked but with no music. 87 tracks, i hear the first 2 tracks with music, the next 85 are there tracked, but no music. Does anyone know if this is a bug or a setting issue? |

I’ve used it to burn a few tracks without any problems but I’ve never tried 87 tracks! Most typical CD’s have 12-15 tracks. ~jr |

well, you can have up to 99 tracks on a red book audio CD, but the minimum time is 4 seconds a track i believe. |

I never could get the 'Burn to CD' function to work...my CDs were ALWAYS blank from a burn in ACID. Use PYRO, Nero or CD Arch. instead. |

Did you use the option to prerender the file before burning? Peter |

I'm having the same problem. HAve a mix of 13 tracks, about 1:08:00 long. Splitting the mix into 13 tracks using the CD Track splitter markers. Prerendering to a file and then burning. The first time I tried burning, the music cut out at the 12th track. The 2nd time, half way though the 5th track. LIke said previously, the tracks are split and the timecode runs on the CD player, but there's just silence coming out of the speakers. |

Over an hour? Isn't that a bit long for an audio CD? (A 700 MB CD holds about 80 minutes of music.) Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid Buy Instant ACID by JohnnyRoy and mD! mD at ACIDplanet |

An hour is not uncommon for a mix CD. If there's 80 minutes on a CD, and I'm using 68, there should be no problem as far as space its concerned. I've burned audio cd's that were ~78 minutes in the past. |

LOL Ohmygosh...I just realized I made a complete a$$ out of myself. Sorry about that squipple. (See what happens when I sit in front of my computer too long?) Duhhh... In any case, could it be CD/DVD burner related? The media brand being used? Maybe there's a common denominator there somewhere. No problem mD. It may be burner related..here's what I found seems to have fixed it. I did two things, so it could be either of them. I've yet to troubleshoot down to the source. 1. I had some (mono) tracks on the bottom of the stack that weree being played very early in the mix. Within the first 30 seconds. I moved those layers to the top, right above where all the other tracks were playing during that time. 2. I'm using a CD-RW, and I stopped letting ACID erase the disc. I'm (quick)erasing with Nero. One of those two things (or both) seem to have fixed the problem. I've burned a disc twice since then and it's worked both times. Now, for the people at Sony.. I love the new track split markers for CD. A few things I'de really like to see for the disc-at-once burning process though. - Tracks named on the CD the same as the name of the marker - Ability to name the CD - Availability of the split, named, rendered tracks after the CD is burned and/or just rendered squipple |

What's the brand of media you're using, squipple? Try a brand name like Verbatim, Memorex or Sony if you're using generic media. Also see if a firmware update is available for your burner. Good ideas, mD. I'm using Memorex CD-RW's. I've also tried an imation CD-R, thinking it may have been the RW disc, but it does the same thing. I updated my burner firmware as well. Still getting the music cutting out at a point and then silent tracks the rest of the disc. I don't think there's anything wrong with the burner, because I can burn CD's fine. Although, the last two burns, the audio cut out in APPROXIMATELY the same place. Not exactly, but like two seconds difference. |

Hmm. Have you tried burning at a slower speed? Between 2x to 4x might work. I did notice that when futzing with a project, the "time at cursor" indicator disappears when the project hits measure 1000 (no matter the tempo). It may have something to do with your problem, but when I burned to a CD there were no problems at that point; I could still hear the audio on the CD. Yeah, with CD-RW's my burner will only burn at 4X. I'm going to set up the project on another machine, to see if it's the actual burner. I tried burning a data CD this weekend and there were errors on the disc, which makes me think maybe there's a problem with the cd writing in the drive |

"- Tracks named on the CD the same as the name of the marker - Ability to name the CD" FYI, I believe what you're asking for is "CDtext" support. I'm not sure. Where are you expecting to view the track titles and cd titles once the CD is burned? If it's WMP, then that's based off of CDDB, which WMP gets from a database on the internet. If you want to see the names in a CD player display, then that's CDtext. |

I have had this exact same problem. It was a 17 track mix, prerendered, DAO, not over 74 minutes, tried out various CD-R media, and my burner is actually a Sony. This is a genuine program bug that needs to be fixed. I have done extensive logical deduction testing to figure out that the problem seems to be occurring with the actual prerendering process itself. It makes no difference what CD-R media you use or any of that, doesn't even really matter if you change your burn rate. Say you prerender the file to burn DAO, and when you go back and check to see if the CD burned properly, you notice that the audio cuts out (but the CD keeps playing as normal), at exactly 3:31 on track 4 (as an arbitrary example). Every CD that you burn from that prerendered file will cut out at exactly the same place. I've found that you actually have to close the program, and then load up AP5 again, and then start all over, letting it scan a new prerender. Sometimes the prerender file will get further through the CD without the audio dropping out than other times. Sometimes it'll actually barely get any audio on the CD at all. The amount of time the prerender will go with out drop out appears to be random. I have actually gotten the DAO function to work properly, but I had to close ACID, reopen ACID, re-prerender, reburn, and then check how far the audio made it several times until I eventually was able to burn the entire CD without the audio dropout. I have not yet tested this with the 5.0a update. |
