How come it does this to you ?

Curious issue. If you have time, please tell us which plugins you're talking about (dx, vst or vsti), and what kind of these you're using if you have a list !

Also let us know if :
-You use Cakewalk VST Adapter
-You have different applications using your plugins
-This issue only happened with AP5, on the same PC AP4 was installed, etc...

And tell us about your Folder organisation on plugins. (Separated VSTfx / Dx folders & Separated VSTi / DXi folders, etc...).

this is a known bug...it's even addressed in the acid music 5.0a update.

and yes i'm using the vst-dx adapter (for compatability with 4.0 projects), some vst, dx, plus my UAD-1 plugs.

Ow you're talking about this :
"A bug has been fixed that could cause ACID Pro software to scan for plug-ins every time the application started. "

Ok then.
