when using line in to record a cassette tape so I can burn it to cd, after about a minute or so the flashing "record" button starts to go very slow and the time figure only increases about every 4-5 seconds. When I play it back, it either stops recording at the point where it started to go wrong or the recording is gibberish from that point........any ideas please. I am using sound forge 7.0.........PS I have used it lots of time before with no problems and I tried using different tapes

Try defragging your hard drives. Also, check to see how much available record time SF reports in the "Time Left on Drive" in the record window.

Also make sure you've updated to 7.0b, available on the website.
