Subject:A new weird prob

has anyone experianced a problem in shutting acid 5 down, 4 times now, when I was done it would let me close acid, I hit the X nothing hit file close, nothing, I hit Crtl Alt Deleat, and it takes awhile, all this time ACID is still fully functionable but it wont let me close it, also when it boots up it keeps saying error, plugins refused to load error blah blah blah,

I would say the clue to the problem is in the “blah, blah, blah”. My guess is the plug-in that is causing the error at startup is also causing it not to close. If you think it’s a VST plugin, try renaming your Vstplugin directory to eliminate all VST plugins and see if you still get the error and can close. If it’s a DirectX plug-in, there is a tool that will allow you to disable DirectX plug-ins (I forget the name and have never used it but someone mentioned it on this forum a few days ago). You need to figure out what plug-in is not working and eliminate it.

This might have nothing to do with your issue, but is the Media Manager busy doing a search or some other book keeping when you are trying to exit?

If the pane is busy, you won't be able to exit until it is complete. You can test if this is the case by displaying the Media Manager pane and moving the mouse over it. If the mouse turns into an hourglass while over the pane, it is busy.
