Subject:3 problems in acid pro 5 !

- I have noticed that listening to a loop in acid explorer takes more time than in version 4 : most of the time, we have to wait for the progression bar to get quite slowly to 100%, which was not the case in v.4 (I didn't have to wait at all to lisen to the preview).

- Also I have noticed an error message about the media manager, and I don't understand why... It always says that Acird has to close the media manager beacause of an error....

- And one more : not always but often, when recording midi from a vst instrument, there is a strange sound at the beginning, just like if I played all the keys of my keybord at once, and then, the recording is fine.

PLEASE mister Sony, RELEASE AN UPDATE FOR VERSION 5 !!!!

I've definitely noticed that it is slower to preview loops. The media manager is rather flaky and sometimes fails to preview a loop at all.I haven't noticed the other errors. I certainly hope the preview speed is improved with the next update.

Just to let you know that this doesn't happen to everyone...
The first compliment I gave Sony was how much faster the preview is in 5 versus 4. The preview is near instantaneous on my machine.
However, I do have the same problem previewing loops in Media Manager. They don't always playback. I did notice that it seemed worse with non-Acidized loops. Are you noticing the same thing?

You have a good point, to be fair previewing is certainly no worse with Explorer, I was thinking of the media manager. I don't know if non-acidized loops are slower - I don't have any acidized loops on my hard drive yet. Had a hard disc failure over the new year and am in the process of restoring all the loops. Perhaps someone else has noticed a difference?

I have not seen much of a difference previewing loops from either the Loop Explorer or Media Manager. The previewing of loops is nearly
instantaneous. Although, except for my (4) DOD loop disks, 95% of my 38GB loop library are all from the Sony Loop Library and are already optimized/acidized for use in ACID and tagged/cataloged for use, in the Media Manager.

When you encounter a file that does not preview in the Media Manager, can you preview the same file in the built-in Explorer?

Sorry, my language was inaccurate - I haven't encountered a file that will never play in the Media Manager but sometimes files stutter and won't play until reselected. This mainly happens with auto preview. Incidentally, I'd dearly love a keyboard shortcut to toggle automatic preview on and off. I like to be able to select a bunch of files and apply a tag at the same time, but if auto preview is on they all start playing and the tagging process seems to take longer. I'd like to be able to start and stop loops playing in the media manager with the keyboard as well. I can use the space bar to stop a loop if I have an empty track view, but I can't find a way to start files playing via the keyboard.. I find the keyboard more convenient than using the mouse.
