Yes, I know ACID Pro 5 supports dual CPUs, but I'm not sure about the lighter versions. (I believe the Sony apps all support Intel's HT technology as well.)

Note that in addition to the mobo with dual CPUs, the operating system must also support them for the added benefit. Windows XP Professional supports dual CPUs; Windows XP Home does not.

Cool on A5 pro and the HT technologie. Thanks for the reminder about the OS. Right now I'm using W2k pro and although I want to upgrade my mobo, I'm not nearly as excited about upgrading my OS right yet. :) I think I'll just stick to a cingle CPU upgrade for now.

Thanks!

Actually, all multi-threaded apps (including Sony's) will generally benefit more from multiple processors than from HT.

Hyper-threading tends to be more promising in theory than practice because of load-balancing issues. It's better than nothing, but will never outperform multiple processors of modestly comparable speed.

There's probably a price/performance analysis hiding in there somewhere. How about 2 HT CPUs? ;-)

Win2k pro already supports multiple processors, btw. Up to 4, I think. It won't, however, support HT.
