external keyboard

I've used Vegas for video mainly and just extracted music from CDs. I just got a digital piano keyboard and my son wants to record his music. It's a newer model that uses a USB connection and uses MIDI software drivers that I had to install on the computer. I can't figure out exactly what settings I need to choose and how to make this work. Can anyone give me instructions on how to do this? Please be as detailed as possible. I'm not familiar with the audio fuctions of this program.
Thanks

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe Vegas supports Midi. Your keyboard doubtless has an analog out jack (headphone jack, probably). Buy a stereo patch cord with a mini stereo plub on one end (this goes into your sound card's analog in jack), and a plug that matches your keyboard analog out (probably 1/4" stereo male plug) on the other. Radio Shack is a good source for this.

Other than the above, you'll have to use some other application that supports midi input if you want to use your USB midi connection.

Acid 5 accomodates midi. . . as well as almost every other application on the planet. . . except Vegas.
