I dont know much about audio stuff, but when i record a 2 minute track the file size is about 30-something megabytes. i think the reason is because my bit rate is so high, around the 1000's. How can i make the bit rate smaller so i can have a smaller size, with the same quality sound. (I'm using ap3) please answer at jon_kim2@hotmail.com or not thanks |

> when i record a 2 minute track the file size is about 30-something megabytes Welcome to the world of audio recording. 30+MB for a 2 minutes wave file sounds like you have it set to 24bit/48KHz sample rate. You could change it to 16bit/44.1KHz but that’s as low as I would go. That should get 2 minutes of audio down to about 21MB. Audio takes up a lot of space. I recommend you purchase a second hard drive (at least 160GB) to hold your audio projects while you’re working on them. These settings are in the project properties (Alt+Enter) or File > Properties > Audio. If you are using a soundcard with ASIO drivers, you may also have to change this in the Options > Preferences > Audio dialog. Note: If you are using a soundcard from Creative Labs, (Soundblaster, Audigy, etc.) then set your sample rate to 16 bit/48KHz as this is what the card does internally. This will give you the best sound with those cards. > please answer at jon_kim2@hotmail.com or not thanks Forums are for the benefit of the community.
