Subject:Acid 5 and Novation V-Station. Help!!

Hi,

I just got the Novation V-Station soft synth, and I can't for the life of me get Acid Pro 5.0 to recognise it. This is seriously driving me nuts. I read on here that sometimes having a soft synth in the same folder as VST effects can mess things up, so I went so far as to put the V-Station in its own folder with NOTHING else and point 5.0 to it under the VSTi preferences. All my other soft synths work fine--just not this one. I thought there might be a problem with the V-Station itself, so I opened up Acid Pro 4.0d and put the folder in the VSTi preferences and bam--it works fine. Since it works fine in 4.0, I'm thinking that this is a 5.0 bug. Can anybody suggest anything that I might be missing here? I REALLY want to start using this plugin (I've missed my K Station since I sold it!). Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

I just installed the V-Station demo and it works fine with ACID Pro 5.0 on my PC. I have a procedure documented in the ACID Tips section of my web site that shows you how to hack the registry to get ACID to rescan for VSTi’s. This is totally unsupported by Sony, use at your own risk, blah, blah, blah... but if you’ve tried everything else (i.e., pressed the rescan button in ACID, etc.) and you’re desperate, you may want to try it.

JR--YOU'RE THE MAN!! Okay, no "all caps" message, as that is annoying, but I did exactly what your web site suggested, and it worked! After I deleted the "plugs" registry, I noticed something in the VSTi Synth folder above it that said V Station, but the little icon next to it was red. This didn't look right, so I deleted it too (not all of the VSTi folder--just the V Station one). I re-started Acid and I loaded the V station folder and bam--there it was! Thanks a million--I really appreciate it. Now as long as I can get 5.0 to work without crashing, I will be set....:o)

Peace.

I’m glad it worked. It’s a bit drastic, but sometimes it’s the only thing that works.V-Station is kinda cool now that I'm playing with it. Thanks,
