Subject:How to control Media Manager

I just made a post wondering how my library had 4 loops untagged (unaccounted for). I've just discovered that if I add a file to a project it automatically gets added to the current library. Is there any way of stopping this happening? I think files should only be added if they are specifically searched and scanned for.

Thanks,

Chris (Hunt)

Chris, Go to Options > Preferences > General and uncheck Save media-usage relationships in active media library

Thanks for the tip, if I do this do you know if there are any other repercussions. For example in a previous post Iacobus suggested I have this option checked so as to be able to keep track of whether a track had been used before. I really don't want Acid adding new tracks to the library automatically, especially as it doesn't remove a track if I delete it from a project. Seems like a recipe for messing up the library.

I would like to be able to use the Media Manager but seem to be having a hard time at the moment getting it work how I imagine it should. Guess I better quit imagining!

Chris
