Hey guys, I was curious to know, Do the Training DVDs for acid come with the acid software. I've looked and read every thing about acid and the dvd and neither say anything about whether in comes in the box with the software or not. Alot of software today come with training dvd's. So does any one know if a dvd comes with acid?

The training DVD’s do not come with the software. They are not even for sale yet. There is also a new book Instant ACID in the works that should be available Feb ’05. VASST also runs training seminars that travel the world. One might be coming to a city near you. This version of ACID is going to have quite a few training options available.

beside the non existent, though hyped thru print sent to my door, Sony acid 5 dvd training thing, and the aimed at beginners book instant acid you mentioned (amazon says March 12 release) .what else? or is it a summer tour with Fisher or Rudy or whoever else VASST puts up?

How hard to do an update of Rudy's dvd..with info on media manager, vsti's..etc.

I wouldn’t say the Instant ACID book is aimed at beginners at all. The copy that was given to places like Amazon.com was prior to the release of ACID Pro 5.0 so it couldn’t talk about new features that were under NDA.

In fact, the book doesn’t have the normal lengthy overview that covers the file menu, properties, etc. at all. It covers only what you need to know to get started. The book covers the basics of looping and then moves into advanced looping, beatmapping, MIDI, tips and techniques, chord progressions, new features like the groove pool, media manager, etc. There is an entire chapter dedicated to MIDI recording and another on audio recording.

The fact that it’s an “Instant” book doesn’t mean it’s basic. It means its not the “bible” on ACID covering every possible feature. The Instant series is meant to convey knowledge instantly with a very visual and step oriented approach. It holds more of the experience of the authors and topics that are commonly asked about, than the information you could look up in the on-line help.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they have considered something like this.
