Subject:Having both v4 and v5 ok?

When I attempt to install v5, ACID gives me a "do you want to update?" prompt. No. I want v4 and v5, especially with all the problems folks have been having with v5. ACID does not give me that option. If I say no, it tells me to run a repair the next time I try to install v5. :( How do I get around this? Rick |

Did you install the ACID Pro 5.0 demo? Perhaps that’s what it wants to update. I have ACID Pro 4.0 and ACID Pro 5.0 on my PC and they both still work fine. In fact, I don’t see how ACID 5 could technically update ACID 4 since ACID 4 is in the \Sonic Foundry\ directories and ACID 5 installs into the \Sony\ directories. They will both work fine together; I’m just not sure why you’re getting an upgrade prompt. I did not. ~jr |

I may have started to install the demo and killed it. Although no AP5 was showing up in the XP "All Programs" list, it *was* in the uninstall software list. I uninstalled it and reinstalled with no update prompt. Thanks! Eric |
