So...what is it you're asking?
I would suggest to you to recommend this feature via the Support-Product Suggestion.

This feature was suggested by many user for V5. How can you call a product 'PRO' without this important feature... SONY please we need control surface support.

Actually, I was pretty amazed Acid didn't get control surface support after Vegas did. It doesn't bother me too much, because I don't really use Acid for mixing, I save that task for Vegas, but still surprised Acid didn't get it none the less.

Hello,

I do agree, I wish it did have the support as well...
I use a number of other tools (even older ProTools stuff that uses it)... thus, I am a little dissapointed it does not work either...

is there some reason why it doesn't have this feature? reminds me of how SF said they would "never" have midi support..

If I had to guess, it would be that they ran out of time to include it in this release. This is just a guess as I have no knowledge of what Sony’s plans are, but as a software developer myself, I know that there are always more features on your list than you could ever fit in a single release.

What is usually done is that you pick a release date and work backward from there to figure how much can be done in that amount of time. It use to be that you selected a set of features that made sense for a new release and built that and shipped it when it was ready. Today, everyone expects a new release every year (or in some businesses every six months) and so your release content is driven by dates, not by sensible functions. You pick off the ones you think are most needed by your customers and implement them first. At some point, you have to cut and run and the rest of the features are deferred to the next release.

Ditto what JohnnyRoy said. I'm pretty sure that the development team's plate was a little full this time around, in between adding new features and rebuilding ACID to have XP/2000 support. (It was actually the only major SPD app left, other than CD Architect, that supported the legacy Windows versions.)
