My first 5.1 project. In the Vegas 4 program, I get the center audio channel to work, but when I render and burn with DVD Art., I can not get the center or rear channels to work, also in DVD Art., I set the audio properties to 5.1. The receiver and the DVD player reads the audio as Dolby D, but there is only the right and left channels, and the center channel is in those channels. Help! Tiff |

In properties the master bus is switched to 5.1. When I render, the only choices are; Stereo, Joint Stereo, Dual Channel and Mono Modes. I have it in Stereo Mode, that is the defalt mode. Also in preferences, I have chosen Sound Baster Audigy to seprate the front. rear and center channels and 48,000 Hz sample rate. Again while in Vegas 4 the channels are seperated. When I burn the mpeg to DVD the file will show Dolby D, but the channels are not seprated. Thanks Tiff tiffcanady@yahoo.com |

O.K. so I've render into Sonic AC3, but for some reason the .ac3 file is still only 2 channel. In Vegas 4 I have two audio tracks, one for the center channel and the other for the front and rear channels combinded. When I listen to the audio while in Vegas 4 the audio is as I want it. When I render it in an .ac3 file, it goes back to 2 channels only. Thank you for helping me. Tiff |

you have to have 6 mono file tracks (must be mono - but a stereo track can be used if you slelect one channel or combine channels) .. you can also use more or less than 6 , but i am giving the basic version.... for each of the 6 tracks - designate which channel it is going to be, by sliding the joystick icon to the right speaker icon - on the left side channel designation (i think all this is in the manual) . render out using the 5.1 template ... !! |
