Subject:CPU requirements for AP5?

Hi All, I have a Pentium IV 1.8GB CPU and the thing starts to chug and EVEN SLOWS DOWN sometimes. Really pisses me off. I do tend to have a lot of tracks and effects, but sometimes that's just the way it is. Now I hear to use some of the features of AP5, like Media Manager, is even more CPU intensive. Bottom line? What do you really need to run a large ACID file? What kind of CPU clock speed? Thanks, Rick |

Your CPU speed is fine. There's probably a weak link in your system's chain. What's your soundcard/audio interface? Amount of RAM? Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid Pre-order Instant ACID mD at ACIDplanet Guitars 4 Kids |

Is this a laptop? How many tracks and FX are you running in a typical project that's giving you performance trouble? Your hardware certainly sounds like it's up to snuff. (What kind of hard drive configuration are you using? With a digital audio media app such as ACID Pro and Vegas, it's best to have two drives in an IDE config.)
