Subject:Monitoring while recording

I'm about to start recording vocals, but when I try to record (as soon as i press the 'start' button), the monitoring disappears. Only the music is played back. I can't hear the vocals anymore. What am I doing wrong?

Nothing. ACID does not do live monitoring while recording. You need to monitor the vocals externally, either through a hardware mixer or if you have an audio device like the M-Audio Firewire 410 that has a software mixer, you can use the Aux Send as a separate monitor mix.
