I want to string 4 or 5 tunes together. Is there a way to open several files at once?
Thanks,
Dave

Yeah, you can have lots of files open at the same time.

It is pretty easy to open up a file, select all, copy, and then paste at the end of another file.

You can also just open the first one, then Alt+drag (Paste Insert) from the Explorer window to the end to append.

Or if you wanrt to get fancy, use CD Architect (or Vegas). Or , hopefully, wait for SF8 !

Still can't do it. I have a file ( a song) open already. If I go to file again and open another song, it replaces the one that was there. If I go to file, then copy, and then try to paste I get cross fade, mixc, overwrite and replicate. There is no way I've found to link tunes together. If you know how to do this, please, step by step allright?
Thanks,
Dave

Which version of SF are you using?

Have you gone through the options/preferences to see if there is one that would effect this?

I literally spent all day working on edits from a recording session and had multiple files open at the same time.

My process was as follows:

1. Drag files onto SF, or double click the filename to open them.

2. Create a new file.

3. Select portions of open files, and paste into the file created in step 2.

4. Perform edits.

5. Goto step 3

I think this is so simple everyone is over looking the obvious. Open a file, then open another one (sounds like you have already done this). Go to the windows menu and select 'Tile Horizontally', 'Cascade or 'Tile Vertically'. Now you will be able to see both (or how ever many) files you have open.

Good luck,
