Hello,
Acid always tries to detect looping information which takes more time and distorts the sound of single shots.

Is there a way to tell acid to preview samples in the Explorer as single shots instead of loops?

If they are ACIDized files this should not be happening. Are these just regular wave files that just happen to be single shots but because there is no ACID information in them, ACID tries to play them as loops? The only way to stop this is to add the ACID information to the files. You can do this one-at-a-time in ACID or search for a program on the Internet that will do them in bulk. (I think there are some I just don’t know the names off hand)
