I created a bunch of projects using Acid Pro 5 on Windows 2000 SP4, then switched to Windows XP SP2, Installed Acid Pro 5 on WinXP, then loaded my old .acd project files from burned CD (Which included the sound files) By going to File > Open, and I get the following page fault: An Exception has occured. There is a stack dump information, (not sure if anyone wants to see that) then when OK is clicked, this dialog pops up. D:\Projects\rewire\ReWireDLL\Portable\ReWireDLL.cpp(990) ; VERIFY failure What is the deal? I never had a folder on my D drive named "Projects" I have seen others on the web puzzled by this same occurance without any resolution. I need to be able to open these .acd files and version 4 will not open them due to them being saved in Acid 5. I am running Windows XP sp2 with all new sound drivers and video drivers installed. Any help appreciated. MrSlate |

If you notice, ReWireDLL.cpp is the name of a C++ source file (not a DLL). The directory is the path on the build machine at Propellerheads that compiled the ReWireDLL.dll (it’s imbedded in the DLL file). The error is happening on line 999 in that source file. This message is so the programmer knows where to look. If you do a search on this forum for “ReWireDLL.cpp” you will find that others have solved this by re-installing ACID Pro 5.0. In many cases, the users have had several copies of this DLL on their PC due to every application shipping their own version. It is possible that the wrong version is being used. I would try a re-install and see if that fixes it. ~jr |

I found three ReWire.dll files on my system, one in Acid's Audio Hardware Drivers folder and one in the Windows\System32 folder. I changed the name to .old and left the one in the Acid directory, but the same result. Any more suggstions would be appreciated. Thanks for your help MrSlate |
