Subject:Creating mono AC3 to make DVDA happy?

I have a mono audio source for my video and want to keep it that way on the DVD to maximize bitrate for the video. I'm using VV5 and DVDA2.0, I've got the audio bitrate set to 192 kbps, turned off all input filtering, I've set the dynamic range compression to none, dialog normalization to -31dB. But when I bring the audio file into DVDA, the audio is completely blank. Any ideas?

no mater if it is mono or 2 channel - if it is 192 bitrate, the file size is the same .. use dual channel ac3 instead for better compatability

True... I usually do 384kbps stereo which comes out to 192 for each channel. I understand that the bitrate doesn't change the file size. I just had hoped to allot all 192kbps to one channel. I'll just have to live with a lower bitrate though. Thanks for the response.

hmm - bit rate does effect the file size , that and the lenth are the factors , no mater if audio or video

What I meant to say is that I realize the bitrate makes no difference in filesize whether it's mono or dual; same amount of bandwidth toward different number of channels. Well anyway, I changed back to dual channel and everything seems happy now. Thanks.
