Subject:A little tidbit for ACID/UAD-1 users

When you have a UAD-1 laden project that gives you the occasional native CPU munching, try disabling the PPI's from the Performance Meter, each time, before you press play. There is the well known disable/re-enable trick, during playback to reclaim native CPU, but if, for whatever reason, you don't want to be doing that, during playback, try disabling the PPI's, from the PM, before you start playback. For the most part, the native CPU munching, has been fairly tamed in ACID Pro 5, but occasionally it still does occur, but at least not as severe, as in ACID 4. I had a 24/44 project, with 14PPI's (about 65% DSP on my two UAD-1's), and my native CPU was pegging 96%. I disabled the PPI's, from the PM, before playback and my native CPU dropped down to the 71% to the 79% range. A lot more reasonable. The UAD-1 plugins will still play, when in a disabled state, when engaged, but they are not in a "live" status, beforehand. Anyway, it does seem to make a difference for me, when I need it.
