Subject:burning CD's with no gaps between tracks

Hello.

Hope someone can help me with the following problem.

I have a DJ mix as a single long wav file in soundforge. i have identified all the tracks in the mix as region and have named them.

Then I went to the Tools menu and selected the Extract Regions option.

This then saved all the regions as seperate wav files.

I then went into Nero and dragged all the wav files into the track listing area. I selected "Disk-At-Once" and burnt the CD. However, when playing it back there were gaps between the tracks.

Where have I gone wrong? Can someone let me know the best procedure for doing this.

Much appreciated

Metro

i do this all the time and it works perfectly.

i don't use nero, though. i use an adaptec product.

in my software there's an option for the length of gaps between tracks. i'd look for that in nero and set it to zero. (or use another cd burning program.)

your question really is a nero question, not a sound forge question, as you're doing the right thing in sound forge already :)

Do a search on this forum for "Ahead Nero" , there has been threads that will explain the procedure.

In Nero you still must specify that gap = 0 sec. and set to DAO

Select All Files > Rt. click > Properties> Pause = 0

Burn as DAO

You will not have any 2 sec. gaps. You can still have micr-gaps if original source was ever MP3 before converting to WAV. That gap wil be about 1/75th of a sec.

I am having the same problem. After separating out the WAV files (tracks), and converting them to mp3, I am finding that a gap of silence is added to the beginning and end of the track file. Therefore, it doesn't matter what burning software is used, there are still audible spaces between tracks.

I have a similar thread above as I am trying to get help on how to fix this problem. I have used SF for cutting up WAVs and converting to mp3 in the past many times and never had this problem!

You will always get silent gaps when saving to MP3. If you want gapless files then save to WAV instead of MP3.
