Subject:Record from a DVD

I am wondering if while playing a DVD in WMP and using the 'record' feature in SF if resulting WAV is a true digital recording. I have been told that it is an analog recording and I'd get all sorts of humming and buzzing interference from the PC.

Yes that would not be a digital transfer, you would be recording the analog signal in real-time. However if you have a reasonably decent soundcard you should not get noise.
