I recorded some synth parts, the meters and monitor shows everything is fine. When I then put it into the timeline of acid, there is no reading of anything record. Just a flat line. Can someone tell me why it didn't record what it shows it was recording? Thanks!!!

Where these soft synths via MIDI recording or live synths via Audio recording? A little more information about your setup and signal flow would help.

I am using a line in, into my computer. My audio card in creative. It shows the meters moving, but when I play back the recorded track, there is nothing.

The other thing it has been doing is recording the tracks already layed down.

If it is recording the "What you hear" on your Creative, then recording is working correctly. Something with your physical connection or your Creative configuration is wrong.
