Trying To Remove a Video Effect

Hi everyone. I am a newby and really need help on an issue I am having. Just spent hours editing my Disney video. I was almost finished and decided to take a break, saved my project. When I reopened this, it seems that I saved it with some kind of effect added into the video. I suspect that this may have been added at the end of the video but it is now affecting the entire 45 minute video clip. It's a kind of motled effect I have introduced whilst messing around with text effects and transitions. I have tried to remove this but don't really know where to start. If anyone can help, I'll be very grateful, the idea of redoing this project is daunting...I spent hours adding sound, music, transitions - will be in tears if I have to start again. There must be a way to remove the effects?? Thanks.

There are at least 4 places where effects can be applied: media pool, event, track, and project. (They can also be applied to video buss tracks, but i'll guess for now that you're not using those.) When an effect is applied anywhere except the media pool it will turn the effects chain button green. This is the button that looks like a tiny vertical rectangle with smaller circles on each side. Look for any of these buttons that are green, double-click on them, and you'll see the chain of effects applied. Select the effect you want to remove and click the "X" button in the upper right corner of the effects window.

The event effects button is in the lower-right corner of the event on the timeline.
The track effects button is in the upper-middle of the track header (on the left of the screen).
The project effects button is above the left side of the preview window.

In the Media Pool, right-mouse-click on the clip and choose "Media FX" from the popup menu.

Sir, you are a God send. Thanks you very much - had a look, followed your suggestions and have reverted my project to how it should be. Thank you, thank you, thank you>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
