Subject:Midi question on Acid Pro 5

One of the things I was looking for in Acid 5 was the ability to play a section of a track, maybe 8 bars, in a loop, adding to the midi piano roll, each time the track went around. Then, once the midi was recorded, having the ability go in edit it midi, then play it back, recording new midi notes, on top of the existing midi notes. If you have ever used Cubase you may be familiar with this as a way of working.

Does anyone know if the new version of Acid Pro 5 enable you to do this?

Any help or advice much appreciated and if I've explained this badly, let me know and I'll have another bash.

Monki.

I’m not sure I understand because you use of the phrase “adding to the midi piano roll, each time the track went around”

If you are asking if you can sit in the MIDI Piano Roll Editor and have it loop while you paint new notes the answer is Yes ACID 5 can do this, but then so could ACID 4.

If you are asking if ACID 5 has the ability to record live from a MIDI controller in loop mode adding to the existing notes each time around the loop, then the answer is no.

You only spoke of using the Piano Roll Editor so I would say that ACID 5 will do what you want.
