Since the CD standard of 44.1kHz is the bare minimum to resolve the audible high frequency range, I would like to create audio files with a higher frequency and a larger bit rate. However, because these specifications are not standard, I cannot use Sound Forge to burn such audio files to a CD. I can create a data DVD with these large audio files. 1) Are there any players that can read a data DVD? 2) Do you have to have a special sound card to play back a 192kHz/24bit audio file? I.e., is it standard for a sound card to have 24 bit digital-to-analog converters? thank you very much, don burgess |

Not many support 192 kHz, and those that do are pricey. MOTU an Lynx make 192 kHz/24 bit solutions. There are others. Depends on your needs as far as inputs and outputs go. Peter |
