It creates it's own .NET user account, for some reason unknown to me! All you have to do is go into the User Accounts control panel and delete the NET account. Don't worry, it won't remove NET, just the account. (I'm assuming WinXP here).

I haven't noticed any negative effects of .NET (asides from the mystery account thing).

So I'm not the only one that had another user account created upon installation of Acid Pro 5. Version 4 didn't do that, and I'm ticked that Sony didn't even bother to mention this on either their website or in the readme file. Running Win XP Home Service Pack 1. I shouldn't have any problems if I delet this boguis account them, should I? If I do, is there a way to re-create it if necessary?

A bit of an update after messing around on a Sunday afternoon: deleted the asp.net user account from within the Users control panel applet in Win XP Home and rebooted. I should mention I did a restore point from within Windoze before I started mucking about with this. Did a reboot. Loaded up a few sample songs and edits of same that I have done in both version 4 and 5, and everything played okay. The deletion of the asp.net user account doesn't seem to have caused any heartburn, at least at this point. More when I know more; music isn't my day job (although I wish it were).

There is information about this in the knowledge base here.

Further update: I've been running with the asp.net account deleted from within the Users applet accessed from the Control Panel for a few days now with no problems in AP5 or any other program. Would someone care to explain, here on this forum, the pros or cons on doing this? I figure, why muck about in the Registry when you don't have to?
