Hey, gave it a shot this weekend and it works great. The only problem is it plays out of sync. Is there a setting I am missing. What should pro tools be set at to recognize the acid tempo? It did crash pretty hard at one point, just slowing everything to a standstill, I had to use the dreaded reset button, then wait for the disk check. Anyway, I guess this is a two part question. How to set sync, and why I get really hard crashes with the mbox in acid. Granted these crashes are pretty rare... but they are bad ones. Sorry, I had too much coffee today... thanks all

If you Acid session tempo is 100bpm set Pro-Tools transport to 100bpm
turn off the conductor mode (the blue guy)

ReWire doesn't work this way. PTools is the master in all cases of tempo. What ever the tempo of PTools, then ACID will follow.

Peter, I noticed in the help menu in AP5.0 that is says "if a rewire mixer application includes a tempo map, video and long one-shot tracks in your ACID project will lose synchronization with looped material". I am guessing pro tools has a tempo map, because nothing in acid is syncing with itself. I have messed with the tempo in pro-tools and it never syncs. Another way to put it is my acid project tracks are off from each other. The longest loop i am using is about 15 sec. Any ideas? Thanks...

If you are using loops and one shots, then there should be no problem.

What this comment in the help file means is that long non loop based or one shot media will play incorrectly if there are tempo chanbes in the ReWire host application. This is a limitation of ReWire not reporting absolute linear time position to a device.

If you are working with standard ACIDized Loops and One Shot media, ACID will play them correctly and in sync with PTools or other ReWire hosts.

We have tested against MBox, 001, 002, and, with MacMoney's help - TDM/HD systems. What you are seeing has never been reported.

Could you email me a simple example project - say two or three tracks as an ACID zip file? phaller - at - sony pictures.com

Hi Filterthing
Is your ReWire issue fixed?
drop me a e-mail and I'll be very happy to get on the phone and go over what I have on my Mbox.
