Subject:Multiple Rewire channels?

Hello,
I have figured out how to add more than the default Rewire channels via the PREFERENCES | AUDIO in ACID 5, however when I open Cubase SX2
I can only play the MASTER channel.

I have BUS A, B & C setup in ACID & the Rewire channels are activated in Cubase, but I cannot get them to play anything??? Only the master bus plays. Is this a problem with ACID or Cubase?? What am I missing?

Any help would be appreciated!! !

In ACID did you click on the Playback Device Selector on the buses and assign them to the various outputs? By default they are all routed through the Master Bus so if you didn’t modify this, that’s why everything is only playing through the Master L/R. It’s the left most icon under the name on the bus. (looks like one arrow going in and three coming out) This will let you select the outputs for each bus.

THANKS A MILLION!! THAT WAS THE ANSWER I WAS LOOKING FOR!!

Now my problem is trying to figure out how to get Cubase SX 2.2 to
render each REWIRE track as separate audio wave files in one action...
in other words I could just mute/unmute each rewire track, export the audio mixdown as wav and re-import into the project window in cubase, but this would take forever (plus I was already doing this when with Acid 4 -- i.e. redendering each track and importing into cubase)

Any suggestions?

Yea, I don’t get why you would bother to use ReWrire if you just want to render each track as a wave file in Cubase. The whole idea of ReWire is to keep the tracks live so you can modify them. If you’re going to render them to wave files, just keep doing what you’re doing now. (export from ACID and assign to tracks in Cubase)

If Cubase had the same capability as ACID to render each track as a separate file in one shot then that would help. I don’t know, I don’t use Cubase.

Why render the tracks as audio in Cubase? Well the issues is that, I only start my songs in Acid but I actually do all the arrangement and final mixdown in Cubase. I don’t like arranging in two sequencers, so if I can render my Acid tracks in Cubase (without bounding tracks) then it would REALLY improve my workflow.

Thanks for your help

From what I can tell SX2 and 3 do not support "Freezing" of ReWire buses/tracks. (SONAR 4 does this pretty well I have to admit) You can render the "bus" down, but it isn't a single click process.
