I don't know what happened. I did nothing, changed nothing since I captured last time. Same problem in both Vegas 4 and 5.
Went to capture MiniDV tape from my Sony GV-D1000 and got the error message. Then I tried capturing from my Sony VX2000 camera, same. So I used a different firewire cable, a new one. Then plugged it into my 2nd firewire card. Nothing.
Firewire card must work as I connected my Canopus ADVC100 box and my external preview from Vegas timeline works. But when I connect the GV-D1000 to the canopus box it still doesn't work.
What could have happened? Anyone got any ideas to check?
When I first open capture, it says connect a device. I turn on my editing deck and then I see the Microsoft DV device dialog box come up but then on the main screen is says preview off.
I just can't figure it out. Being both V4 and V5 I might figure it's the computer or devices but the device manager says everything is okay with the 2 fire wire cards.
