Why am I getting 'this midi device is in use by another program" when I try to use my midi controller to trigger a VSTI? There are no other programs running but acid... HELP!

What is the hardware?
How is the controller connected to the PC?
How do you have it set up?
Is it set as your default MIDI port for Windows?

Sorry I think I have it figured out... Needed to disable Midi input in Fl Studio... Seems like even if FL studio in not active, it hold the midi port..

It sounds like your MIDI hardware/driver does not support multicleint access.
