Posted by: ExtraEcho Date:11/15/2004 1:21:17 AM i'm setting up a laptop for my nephew with Acid 5 and reason on it. he uses a podxt to record his guitar playing and he's got a maudio fireewire audiophile as his interface for his outboard gear and his mic. in the process of setting it up and testing it out i ran into a bit of a problem. now for convenience i intended for the pod to use it's usb for audio and record with it's asio driver. only problem is ithat the only way i can select the podxt driver for recording is to make acid use the pod asio driver for the entire project in the preferences pane. the major drawback being that it's impossible to hear your acid project playing back because it the pod isnt a soundcard. now other than giving the kid some 1/4 trs is there some really obvious workaround that i am completely bypassing here? i'm more used to the enviroment in logic where i can route things around to my hearts content and unfortunately acid is lacking in something as unneccesarily complicated as logics enviroment window so is there any way that in the record window acid can use the pod's asio driver without changing all the settings of the project away from his m-audio box so that it'd be possible to monitor the guitar and the rest of the project without having to run the pod into the audiophile? i t'd be great if there's a way to get it to work without having to resort to carrying cables around too. and yes i am the coolest uncle in the world.

ACID can use one driver "type" at a time and ASIO limits dictate that only a single driver for a device can be used at a time. Peter
